I am not good at touch-up paint, I just don't have the steady hand to do the tiny chips, at least the blending needed to get it perfect. And I tend to be heavy-handed with spray painting, which is hard to fix when you over do it.
That said, I purchased both a can of spray and a bottle of touch-up for my car. I wanted the spray to fix a bumper scrape, and it worked great. Using the black/white test card is a brilliant idea, you can really see the color match when you use that. I followed the instructions to the letter, especially with the blending. The color matched perfectly. 3 light coats 10 minutes apart, and done.
Unfortunately I didn't get the clear coat, so the painted spot was obvious in direct sunlight, it was dull compared to the surrounding parts, so I picked up a can of auto clear-coat locally and used that to finish the job.
Next was the paint chips. Much easier than I thought when you follow the example movies on youtube. Including the time to clean the area pre-paint, it took me less than 15 minutes to clean up a dozen or so chips, and it's only obvious close up.

I was told by the local body shop paint supplier AND the Ford and Nissan dealers that touch up paint was no longer available. Then I found Automotive Touchup. I have now purchased the paint pen for three different cars -- Ford Fusion, Nissan Murano and 1966 classic Mustang. Automotive Touchup rocks. I know where I'm going for my touchup auto paint needs!!
