CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1968 Honda (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for Honda paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1968 Honda (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Great product! The color was a perfect match. Easy to apply and dried quickly. This my first time trying to touch up scratches. I can highly recommend this product for all of your paint and touch up needs.

Randall M, owner of a 2007 Honda Civic from Huntersville, NC

Had rust issues with my car after 2 years in Syracuse NY. Body shop wanted to replace the entire door panel at a cost estimate of $1,500+ -- Ah, NO. Even though I am certifiably TERRIBLE at this sort of thing I took wire brush, several meshes of sand paper, and some carefully applied stokes with my power drill's brush bits to eliminate 99% of the rust and smooth the surface. CLEANED it really well. Put down 4 coats of black Rust Preventer undercoat, 4 coats of your color matched paint (spay can 12oz). Then did three coats of clear coat. This all took no more than 10 hours over two days -- and that included all the drying time. I cannot believe how well it turned out. If I get my nose 12" from the repaired area -- then YES, I can see where I did my work... but while standing up and examining the area in bright sun-light, it looks just like the rest of the car! Thank you... the color is perfect, any imperfections are the result of my limited skills!
