To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1977 Cadillac (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. I ordered a pretty obscure color (Ruidoso Saddle) for my 22,000 miles 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz.It's original finish is pristine. So, I'm kind of finicky. I needed to paint the plastic filler panels that tend to crack.I am a fairly accomplished amateur restorer and have painted many cars, so I know how hard it is to match paints.I was amazed at how perfect the match was for my car! My wife's SRX rear fascia got scratched by someone's briefcase or something-through the clear so just polishing out the damage was not an option. I bought the correct Crystal Red along with the high gloss clear, sanded it down, painted, and was more than satisfied with the results. I assumed that color would be a tough one to match but I was able to blend within the panel area and unless one knew I worked on it you would not be able to tell. A bit more polishing of the clear this weekend will further minimize my work. Very satisfied with the product!
