CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1973 Mercedes-Benz Truck, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The paint code will either be three or four digits. Some times the code will have a prefix of DB but this is not consistant. Click here for Mercedes Benz examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1973 Mercedes-Benz Truck is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

The selection was correct and accurate, love the quick mail delivery, great job.

Bill Biava, owner of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL Class from Newport Coast, CA

This the best product for fixing damaged paint that I ever tried. I dropped a gas pump nozzle on the fender of my 2003 Mercedes SL500 and but two big nicks in the paint. This car has been well taken care of and it made me sick. After searching the internet, I came across your web site and ordered an aerosol can of base color and one clear coat. The car has a rare metallic paint and I had concerns about a match. After receiving your products and following your instructions to a t; feather sanding with a final 2000 grit wet sandpaper, I laid 5 coats of base paint and five coats of clear coat. After drying for a day and a half, some buffing with polishing compound brought it back to original with a PERFECT match. Thank you. A great product I would recommend to anyone.
