CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 GMC Medium Duty, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Click here for GMC paint code location chart and paint code label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 GMC Medium Duty is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Max Robitzer, owner of a 1998 GMC Full Pickup

I am a small car dealer and have used these touch ups quite often. ALWAYS a perfect match!

Brian C, owner of a 1997 GMC Full Pickup from Loxahatchee, FL

Color match was perfect considering the truck is 16 years old. Sanded 3 deep gouges in the paint work and applied aerosol undercoat, base color and gloss without having to respray the whole panel. Fully recommended!
