CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1981 GMC (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1981 GMC (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Jason R, owner of a 2000 GMC Sierra from Hudson, NH

The touchup paint I ordered and received was an exact match for what I needed. I ordered the 12 oz Aerosol Spray Paint Can for my truck. The application was extremely easy, and the design of the spray nozzle made for an even application. I'm very happy with my purchase from Automotive Touchup, and will definitely use them in the future. I highly recommend Automotive Touchup for anyone looking to repair minor paint blemishes on their vehicle.

Rich L, owner of a 2000 GMC Sierra from Elgin, IL

This is the first time using your product. I am very impressed and happy with my results. The color matched really well. I used the spray can because I did not want the over spay. The paint went on smooth and the clear has a nice smooth shine. After I painted, I did not have to do a thing to it. I will definitely use AutomotiveTouchup products again. Thanks.....Rich....

Richard Fouke, owner of a 2001 GMC Yukon from Tucson, AZ

Perfect color match. The rock chips on the hood are gone! I did wet sand between coats and finished off with rubbing compound for a flawless final finish.
