CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1979 Ford Crown Victoria, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1979 Ford Crown Victoria is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Chris Myers, owner of a 1978 Ford from Frankfort, IN

Paint matched perfectly, which amazed me since this is a 34 year old car. All of the so called parts stores which deal in paint said it was not a good number, even tho I copied it directly from the mfg. door label. With AutomotiveTouchup it was no problem. So, save yourself alot of hassle and headache and deal with them in the first place. I know I will. Chris Myers

Bruce K, owner of a 2005 Ford Five Hundred from Barryton, MI

I purchased Pearle Blue to repair several places on my Ford 500 and it was a perfect match. I also ordered a Dodge color Atlantic Blue for my daughters Durango, paint matched perfectly again and she was very pleased with her dad. Only issue I had was I had to call to make sure I used the correct clear coat, for the urethane. I had two cans of enamel acrylic clear in the shop and thank goodness your people were at the other end of the phone or I may have used it on my project and ruined it. I learned a lot and enjoyed the results, recommend them highly. Local shop mixed me a up a can of what was supposed to be the Ford color and it didn't even come close. No pearl and darker.
