CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1938 Ford (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1938 Ford (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Dave Lister, owner of a 2003 Ford Taurus from Porltand Oregon

I ordered two colors, Ford TS and Mazda 35J, both in aerosol. I was impressed with the high quality of the aerosol spray. It had plenty of propellent and a good cap. I applied repeated thin coats to the test cards until there was no bleed through of the logo. The coverage was excellent. The base coat was a color match, but at first I was concerned because I didn't see any sparkling. When I clear coated the samples, however, the sparkles came out beautifully. After they dried thoroughly, I was able to drop the samples anywhere on either car and the color was a perfect match in all lights.Over the years I had put off many a minor body repair because I had no way to do that paint. That's all changed now and I look forward to many projects using this product.

Renay R, owner of a 2003 Ford Windstar from Columbia City, IN

Perfect match and thanks for being so prompt.

Pete Speer, owner of a 2003 Ford Explorer from Yorba Linda CA

Just replaced and repainted the infamous Ford Explorer rear applique. The paint lays on well with little tendancy to run and produces a factory color match. Nobody will ever know I painted the deck panel myself.
