To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. Great product. The body shop wanted $610.00 to repaint my rear bumper cover. It was only scraped on the side. The problem was the cover is black plastic so it really looked bad. I filled it, used your white sandable primer (wet sanded with 600) then sprayed the color, then the clear. The match is fantastic. I think the reason for my success is how fine the product comes out of the can nozzle so there is no orange peel. My car is white so that also helps, in my opinion.
