CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1989 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1989 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Michael A, owner of a 1989 Chevrolet from Stuart, FL

I'm the original owner of a 1990 454SS chevy truck. Over the years I've touched up areas with whatever black paint I could find. While the hood was being reinstalled after an engine refresh I damaged the paint on both fenders. After using the correct color and seeing the result I removed and repainted all other spots and the truck looks amazing. Thanks.

Steve from Boston, owner of a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette from Weymouth, MA

Had to repaint the back of the mirrors on an '88 vette and very happy with the color match and the performance of the spray can. I can't find the blend and I painted it. Had a little run with the clear coat but that was my fault. Warning to others to go easy with the clear. My color code wasn't listed with my car search so much thanks to whoever helped track it down.
